Passwords alone are no longer strong enough to secure your data. Prisidio has partnered with some of the finest organizations to provide our customers with some of the most sophisticated authentication tools available.
We use multi-factor authentication to combine your Prisidio username and password (something you know) with authenticator applications that provide you with a verification code on your phone (something you have). This method helps ensure that only you have access to your Prisidio account, even if someone knows your password. Read more about the Prisidio culture of security.
What is multi-factor authentication?
Multi-factor authentication is an authentication method where a user is granted access to an application only after successfully presenting two or more verification factors. With Prisidio, we require not only your username and password, but a verification code from your phone.
What are authentication apps?
Authentication apps generate security codes for signing into applications that require higher levels of security to access. Authentication apps installed on your phone (something you have) combined with your username and password (something you know) greatly decrease the risk of someone gaining access to your Prisidio account.
What authentication apps can you use with Prisidio?
Auth0 Guardian, Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, and similar authentication apps are supported by Prisidio.
What if I don’t want to use an authentication app?
It is possible to access your Prisidio Vault by enabling SMS authentication. This option will generate a 6-digit one time password (OTP) that will be sent to you via text message whenever you attempt to log into Prisidio. While this is a supported option, Prisidio strongly recommends using one of the the above authentication apps for greater security.
Is Prisidio secure?
Yes! Prisidio is built upon one of the most secure cloud computing environments today, with the highest standards for privacy and data security. This provides a range of security services that help protect your data from unauthorized access including threat prevention, threat detection, logging and encryption. This service helps us ensure that all the operating system software and hardware platforms we use are fully patched, updated and monitored.
Is my data encrypted?
Yes! All your documents, account information, and data are encrypted using AES-256 bit encryption. AES, Advanced Encryption Standard, is one of the most secure encryption algorithms available today. So while your data is stored with us, it is secure. Additionally, your data is encrypted while in transit; meaning, as it is served to you in either our web or mobile applications, we use HTTPS technology to secure your data. This technology uses Transport Layer Security to secure communications over the web to keep them private.
